Location
The Algarve is the southern-most province of Portugal with a Mediterranean climate and over 3000 hours of sunshine a year, more than any other resort in Europe. The beautiful coastline has 100 miles of superb sandy beaches and rugged cliffs. The Algarve is ideal for self-catering holidays, with many restaurants and sports facilities.
We find more and more people select Albufeira as their favourite destination because of its multiple attractions, i.e. the lively and social nightlife, the beautiful beaches, varied water sports, golf courses, glorious countryside and the local cuisine.
Worth a visit is Silves, the ancient capital of the Algarve, Henry the Navigator’s school at Sagres, and the Roman palace remains at Estoi. There are also several well-run water parks for the children and plenty of night life in discos and bars. The western coast has spectacular rugged cliffs, beaches and rolling waves, together with a more rural setting of villages and towns.
