Protaras

Protaras, in the South East, has long been the traditional summer resort of the city folk of Nicosia, being just over an hour drive from there. Now, this is a modern resort with excellent beaches and good hotels. Notable for its extensive white beaches and coves, once more after many years. So don't expect tradition here, just good hotels, excellent beaches and a modern infrastructure, which provides just about everything a family needs. You will find it all, from jazz to discos, hamburgers to tavernas and folk art shops to boutiques. But it is not obtrusive nor invades the sanctuaries of the hotels and beaches. Protaras beach is a European Blue Flag Beach.

Pissouri

The quaint, Greek village of Pissouri is situated in the principle vine growing area of Cyprus. Overlooking the coast, it is set off the main Paphos to Limassol road on the south side of a hill approximately 1,000 feet above sea level. It is acknowledged by most travellers to be one of the most attractive and charismatic villages in Cyprus.

There is a village square, a Greek orthodox church, small supermarkets, a bakery, banks and postal service. Several family run tavernas serve excellent food at competitive prices. The village has a very friendly atmosphere and most people speak English. In the warm evenings, the locals gather in the square to chatter.

It is a unique blend of mountain and sea very famous for its breathtaking views and the very mild climate. It is an ideal, charming and peaceful resort, that remained unchanged for centuries where one can experience a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, far from the trappings of civilization.

Whether you are young or old, staying for a while or simply passing through, Pissouri is the ideal spot to totally wind down from the pressures of modern day living. Take the stunning views of the surround countryside, "chill out" on one of the uncrowded local beaches, and experience the friendly, laid back attitude of local village life.

Pissouri Beach

Pissouri beach is magnificently set in an unspoilt bay between the hills, approximately a five minute car ride from the village, which has a magic all of its own.

Pissouri has become a favourite tourist destination in the recent years since it provides a beautiful natural environment and a wonderful beach.

The 'blue flags' are proudly flown on the sand and pebble beach, a symbol of its official certification by European Union bodies as a clean beach.

Water sports are available including swimming, sailing, windsurfing, paragliding and scuba diving. Qualified instructors are ready to help anyone. 

A wide choice of tavernas and bars on and around the beach offer food or drinks. Many of then offer freshly caught fish which is really a treat not to be missed.
